Wello Appoints Aki Luukkainen as CEO (27 Jan 2012)

Boost to commercialize Wello’s groundbreaking technology to produce sustainable energy from oceans.

Wello Ltd., developer of direct wave energy conversion device, today announced the appointment of Mr. Aki Luukkainen as the CEO of Wello Ltd. Wello has operations in Finland and Scotland.  

Aki Luukkainen has an 18-year track record in executive management, corporate development and sales and marketing roles in the international markets. He has previously held executive positions in growth companies and large corporates as well as spin as an entrepreneur. He holds Master of Science degree from Helsinki University of Technology and MBA from Helsinki School of Economics.

Status update (13 Dec 2011)

The Penguin wave energy converter, while lying alongside the quay at Lyness Wharf, sustained some damage on Thursday night (8th Dec) by the hurricane force winds that battered Orkney. The damage is being repaired and should not effect the installation date which is due early in the New Year.

Baby Penguin Survived 100-Year-Storm (12 Oct 2011)

"Baby Penguin" experienced on 10th of October a storm which scaled up equals Northern Atlantic 100-year-storm.

Baby Penguin including its mooring arrangement is an exact 1:8 scale model of the full scale Penguin.
